Mohammedan SC's first clear goal-scoring opportunity came in the seventh minute when Alexis Gomez delivered a set-piece cross to Joe Zoherliana in the center of the box, but the latter's header sailed over the crossbar.

The first half saw some close calls, with Odisha FC's Diego Maurício coming closest with a header that sailed over the bar. Mohammedan also had their opportunities, with Alexis Gomez and Manzoki both hitting the woodwork, leaving the home fans frustrated.
