NCP (SCP) President Sharad Pawar's praise for Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde for his work during his tenure as Maharashtra's Chief Minister has fueled speculations of a wider rift in the Maha Vikas Aghadi(MVA) coalition.kabibe game
The fresh political tension surfaced as Pawar on Tuesday felicitated Shinde with the award 'Mahadji Shinde Rashtra Gaurav Puraskar', on the occasion of the 98th All India Marathi Literary Conference. Pawar in his address also praised Shinde's inclusive approach to governance and development. He expressed happiness that someone from his home district of Satara had become the Chief Minister.
This was not the first time when Sharad Pawar showered praise on his opponents beyond the political sphere. Last month, Pawar credited the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for the BJP's landslide victory in the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly polls.

Shiv Sena (UBT) Not Happy With Pawar's GestureThe veteran politician's remarks were not accepted in good spirits by Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray. The Shiv Sena (UBT) chief reportedly was unhappy with Pawar's gesture.
As per a report by India Today, besides Thackeray, Sena (UBT) spokesperson Sanjay Raut also criticised the move, saying felicitating Eknath Shinde was like honouring Home Minister Amit Shah, as Shinde split the Shiv Sena with his help.
"Certain things should be avoided in politics. Yesterday, Sharad Pawar did not felicitate Shinde, but he felicitated Amit Shah. This is our feeling," news agency PTI quoted Raut as saying. "We don't understand your Delhi politics, but we too understand politics", India Today reported quoting Raut.
Responding to Raut's remarks, Sharad Pawar's party MP Amol Kolhe reportedly said he could be voicing his personal opinion and that politics should not be brought into everything. “He (Sharad Pawar) showed statesmanship, where one does not bring politics into everything. I don't think there is anything wrong with that. He is the president of the event (reception committee),” Kolhe said.

He recalled that Pawar was the son-in-law of Sadashiv Shinde, a spin bowler who was known for his googly. Using a cricket analogy, Shinde hoped Pawar "won't bowl him a googly in the future".
